The Food and Consumer Safety Bureau maintains copies of inspection and complaint
reports. Inspection reports issued since January 1, 2005, are available online
by searching the Bureau’s Food and Lodging Report database. (Inspection and complaint
reports may also be available by contacting the Bureau
at (515) 281-6538, or by e-mail at terri.duden@dia.iowa.gov.)
To look up the inspection report for a specific food establishment, you may identify
it by name or location. You may also search for a food establishment by license type,
or, if you know it, the establishment’s license number. The more information you provide,
the more specific the search results will be. Once you have entered as much information
as possible, click the “search” button to generate a results page.
The results page displays a list of all licensed establishments meeting your search
criteria. You may obtain additional information about a listed establishment by clicking
on the establishment name. Once you have clicked on an establishment name, a screen will
appear displaying details about the selected establishment. You may view an inspection
or complaint report for the selected establishment by clicking on the inspection date.
Again, please note that only inspection and complaint reports issued since January 1, 2005,
are available for online view. New establishments for which the license has not
yet been approved will not appear on the website until the license is approved. Establishments
that are no longer in business will not appear on the website.
